Our Breast Imaging Center was created with one goal in mind: to provide our patients with unparalleled breast services in a warm, welcoming environment. This is a goal our expert physicians have been committed to for more than 60 years—a positive overall patient experience. As such, Eastern Radiologists has recently invested in updates to the BIC that we’ll proudly unveil at an Open House event on March 8, 2018.

Patients will immediately notice a fresh new look, complete with an updated color palette, new flooring and lighting, and new local artwork by our own Dr. Chang, who moonlights as a photographer. Patients will be greeted by the same welcoming staff, but now in a more open and inviting lobby with increased efficiency for registration. They also will enjoy greater privacy in dressing rooms and fully updated restrooms.

“The Breast Center is a concept in medical care,” says Dr. Ericka Griffin, Director of Breast Imaging. “We want women to have their breast care, whether a screening mammogram, a biopsy or other procedure, in an environment that’s warm and inviting. They should feel comfortable here, both because it’s a comfortable space and because they’re confident in the care they are receiving.”

Our BIC is an ACR-accredited Breast Center of Excellence. We earned this designation in 2007 and were one of the first in the state to do so. Today our center is the premier freestanding breast imaging facility in eastern North Carolina, staffed by a team of board-certified, dedicated breast imaging physicians. It serves as hub to a network of 14 mammography sites, and every single breast exam is interpreted by our subspecialized radiologists, who have the experience and training to find smaller, more inscrutable breast cancers that others may miss.

“The Breast Center has always been a beautiful imaging center for our patients,” says expert breast imager Dr. Bryan Jordan. “Our patients are our foremost concern, and their experience is a huge component. Having a relaxing environment for our patients to get their screening mammograms or diagnostic workups is essential, and this update only furthers our goal to continue to be the area’s best Women’s Imaging Center.”
